Terms and Conditions
Retail Point, South Africa accepts orders via the website ordering process,and emailed purchase orders and payments. We do not accept telephonic orders. All prices are inclusive of 14% VAT. An order for goods is accepted at the time of entering of your credit or debit card details via Payfast payment gateway or Instant or emailed EFT. NB. Payments made by Cheque into the Retail Point account will be subject to 10 day bank clearance before items ordered will be dispatched.
Credit card and Debit card Payments will be validated and accepted at real time (Via Payfast Gateway). Items purchased are subject to availability. If the item/s you have ordered is/are out-of-stock or delayed, you will be notified within two (2) working days whether Retail Point South Africa is unable to fulfill your order, payment will be refunded to the credit, debit or EFT account used to process the transaction.
Retail Point South Africa accepts online: Visa, MasterCard and Debit Card payments via PayFast Gateway and instant EFT Bank transfers.
N.B Cheque Payments into Retail Point bank account will require a min 10 day bank clearance before items are dispatched to client.
PayFast regular Credit Card Payment Process
In a regular credit card (non 3D Secure) authorisation process on PayFast, there are 4 primary parties involved:
- The Cardholder
- The Person shopping online who has the credit / Debit Card details
- PayFast (& Merchant)
- The "Gateway" of the online merchant from whom the cardholder is purchasing
- The acquiring bank
- PayFast's acqiring bank through which we process credit/debit card payments
- The issuing bank
- The Bank who issued the cardholder with their credit card
In a regular credit/debit card transaction without 3D Secure, the (simplified) process is as follows:
- The Card holder enters their card information (16 digit card number, expiry date etc.) on the PayFast engine
- PayFast submits the data to Their acquiring bank
- Their acquiring bank authorises the transaction (by communicating with the credit card network and issuing bank)
- The response (success or failure) is passed back up the chain to the cardholder
Orders are dispatched from our warehouse located in Johannesburg, South Africa, on the following business day for all orders received electronically by 12pm each day, and will take approximately 2-7 working days for delivery via courier service within South Africa. Courier prices are shown on the payment confirmation and are calculated according to the weight and dimensions of the goods. Prices are VAT inclusive. The courier service can deliver anywhere in South Africa. Unfortunately, we are unable to process international orders.
Once you have received your order, it is advisable to immediately inspect the package for any potential damage that may have occurred during transportation. It is normal for the package to show some wear, however, if any damage had occurred, kindly contact our sales team immediately at email@example.com. Please have your order or invoice number available.
One exchange per order will be allowed. Thereafter, all courier services will be for your account should there be any further exchanges.
Changes to your Online Order, Once you have clicked “process payment” your order begins to process and you cannot make any online changes to it. Our system is designed to fill orders and get them sent to you as soon as possible. If you wish to make any changes to your order, please send an email immediately to firstname.lastname@example.org and refer to your order/invoice number. Kindly specify the changes you would like made.
Items are inspected before packing to ensure they are in excellent condition. Products are packaged carefully to ensure minimal chance of damage during transit. However, should you receive a damaged or defective item, kindly contact Retail Point immediately. Please send your faulty items together with the, original receipt and order, and return it to Retail Point No 1 Railway Street Mayfair West Johannesburg, 2092 within fourteen (14) days. Kindly note that items purchased online or Direct can only be returned to us.
Goods will be assessed by our quality control and you will be contacted by a team member. Process may take up to 5 working days after receiving goods.
It is recommended that you use a tracking delivery method for all returns and also insure your delivery for safe return to Retail Point. Please ensure to declare the full value of the shipment so that you are completely covered should the shipment be lost or damaged in transit. Should you choose not to undertake the advised recommendations you are responsible for loss or damage to the product during shipping.
If goods are deemed faulty, a refund, credit note, or exchange will be available. The process may take up to 7 working days.
PLEASE CHOOSE CAREFULLY. We do not normally give refunds, if you simply change your mind , make wrong decisions or change your point of sale software making your purchase no longer compatible
Our policy lasts 14 days. If 14 days have gone by since your purchase, unfortunately we can’t offer you a refund or exchange.
To be eligible for a return within the 14 days, your item must be unused and in the same condition that you received it. It must also be in the original packaging.
Several types of goods are exempt from being returned. Perishable goods such as food, flowers, newspapers or magazines cannot be returned. We also do not accept products that are intimate or hazardous materials, or flammable liquids or gases.

To complete your return, we require a receipt or proof of purchase.
Please do not send your purchase back to the manufacturer.
Please notify us immediately at email@example.com, and return the item/s within fourteen (14) days from original dispatch together with the original sales receipt and copy of the purchase order. Goods must be returned in the original packaging to Retail Point No 1 Railway Street Mayfair West 2092.
Please ensure that the goods returned are received hassle-free. Acceptance of returned goods is subject to the goods being inspected at our warehouse and being judged, in our sole discretion, as in original and undamaged condition.
It is suggested that you use a traceable delivery method for all returns and either insure your delivery for safe return to Retail Point or declare the full value of the shipment so that you are completely protected if the shipment is lost or damaged in transit. If you choose not to undertake the advised recommendations you are responsible for loss or damage to the product during shipping.
Exchanges and refunds will only be processed once the items have been received and inspected. You will be contacted by a team member to receive your credit card details if necessary in order to process the refund. Free shipping on replacement items applies for local exchange. Exchanges and refunds may then take up to 5 working days after receiving the items. An email confirmation will be sent to you once the exchange or refund has been processed.
Refunds will be credited to your original method of payment, excluding delivery (when applicable). Once the refund has been processed, a copy of the receipt will be sent to you by email.
Retail Point South Africa endeavors to display the items as accurately as possible on our website, however, the visible size, colour and dimensions may depend on the resolution and colour adjustments on your monitor. Under the circumstances, there is no guarantee that your monitor's display of any colour will accurately reflect the colour of the product on delivery. All sizes and measurements specified are estimates, and every endeavor is made to ensure the accuracy thereof.
Furthermore, all reasonable care is taken to ensure that all details, descriptions and prices of products appearing on the website are correct at the time when the relevant information was entered onto our website. Retail Point South Africa reserves its right to reject orders where product information was inadvertently advertised in error. Our prices are subject to change without notice. Prices listed are advertised inclusive of 14% VAT and are charged for in South African Rands.
Promotional offers, discounts and special offers are run online periodically. Promotions are exclusive to online members. To redeem an offer online the promotional code where applicable must be entered on the checkout page. A successful code will apply the discount or free gift with purchase to the order summary. Please note that all promotions are automated and we cannot take responsibility for an order where the code has not been applied at the time of purchase.
GUARANTEE OF PROTECTION OF PERSONAL INFORMATION

This ecommerce site is Level 1 PCI compliant and uses 128 bit SSL encryption to ensure credit card data is secure. Our checkout process is simple and secure. You can place your orders quickly and with confidence.
PayFast is committed to keeping you and your information secure. We have a multitude of checks in place to protect both buyers and sellers from fraudulent transactions.
We use Extended Validation SSL with 256-bit encryption. Only two of the four major South African banks use this, the highest, level of encryption currently available.
3D Secure is in place for all credit card transactions.
All sensitive info is encrypted within our own database.
We run penetration testing on our system on a weekly basis to look for vulnerabilities. We are only required to do it once every three months, but we run it every week.
Our entire site, blog and help site are served off secure servers, making it harder to perpetrate phishing attacks.
We also have an excellent monitoring system that does, among other things: GEO IP tracking, velocity testing, BIN/IIN validation and checks against online databases.
Apart from the provisions of sections 43(5) and 43(6) of the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act, neither Retail Point nor any of its agents or representatives shall be liable for any damage, loss or liability of whatsoever nature arising from the use or inability to use this web site or the services or content provided from and through this web site. Furthermore, Retail Point makes no representations or warranties, implied or otherwise, that, amongst others, the content and technology available from this web site are free from errors or omissions or that the service will be 100% uninterrupted and error free.
This web site is supplied on an "as is" basis and has not been compiled or supplied to meet the user's individual requirements. Retail Point South Africa may at its own discretion amend these terms and conditions periodically by posting it on the website, and as such will be effective as at that date. The terms and conditions outlined herein may be amended periodically without notice, and will apply to orders placed effective as at the date of amendment.
